WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 16) Leader: Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. PEOPLE: I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you." Leader: As for the holy ones in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight. PEOPLE: The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; I have a goodly heritage. Leader: I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. PEOPLE: Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure. Leader: You show me the path of life.
PEOPLE: In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
INVOCATION
Creator God, we marvel in awe of the expansiveness of your creation. Your margins of diversity are boundless, and for that, we thank you. Each of our beloved siblings are beautifully and wonderfully made, all in Your image. Teach us to love people, just as they are, and embrace their identity fully, as you have embraced us. Amen.
**OPENING HYMN We Are Called to be God’s People Red #710
CALL TO CONFESSION
We sometimes see our God as a distant figure, other times as a close friend. Know that our Lord can be everything to everyone as we look for understanding and we come together in Prayer.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty and all-merciful God, we confess to you our tendency to hold our image of you as an intimate friend, and to forget your role as sovereign of the universe. Forgive us we pray and fill us with an appropriate sense of awe and wonder at your power and creative majesty. As we draw nearer to you in understanding, let us worship and know you for who you are, not for what we may want you to be. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. (A moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
From the abundance of God’s own righteousness, and infinite love and understanding we are forgiven, in the name of Christ our Savior, Amen.

**HYMN OF PRAISE We Are All One in Mission Blue #435
**PASSING OF THE PEACE
**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH, APOSTLES CREED (Adapted by John Redman)
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was born of a young peasant woman, trained as a carpenter, and baptized by His cousin John. He taught many, He healed many, and He angered many. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He defeated death and He offers us grace and love in the name of God the Father Almighty; from that time through all time to come. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit; the universal Church of Christ; the Communion of sharing our gifts with others; the forgiveness of our sins; the Grace of God’s love, and that each soul may have life everlasting. Amen.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Gracious God, give us humble, teachable, and obedient hearts, that we may receive what you have revealed, and do what you have commanded. Help us to see all your children as our sisters and brothers, created to be one in faith. Amen.

SERMON We Are All One, in Mission and in Life John Redman, CRE
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & THE LORD’S PRAYER
And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Let us all consider what we have been blessed with and how we can best share it with those in greater need, even as we gift our church for its greater work to the Glory of God and the undying love of Jesus.
