WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 121)

LEADER: I lift up my eyes to the hills — from where will my help come?

PEOPLE: My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

LEADER: The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand.

PEOPLE: The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

LEADER: The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.

PEOPLE: The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.

INVOCATION

We gather together to feel the warmth of the Spirit of God. May the Lord be with us

today as we worship and praise.

**OPENING HYMN                   “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”                     Red #561

CALL TO CONFESSION

No matter our age, status, or wealth, we all come to Christ as sinners to ask for

forgiveness.

PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING

Lord, we come to you aware of our faults and shortcomings. As we wait for the

miracle of Easter, we offer our thanks for the gift of salvation through your son.

We know we fall short of your teaching, and we ask for the strength and wisdom

to follow your example. Help us to bring reconciliation to ourselves and the

world.

(A moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

In the darkness of sin, we can be sure of the light of God. Know that if you seek the

light, you will be forgiven.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their

own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who

taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our

debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (from the Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus

Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the

Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He

descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended

into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From

thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy

Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of

sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Let us return to God the offerings of our life and the gifts of the earth. May our gifts be
