WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 90)

Leader: Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.

PEOPLE:  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.Leader:  You turn us back to dust, and say, "Turn back, you mortals."PEOPLE:  For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.Leader: You sweep them away; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning;PEOPLE: in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers.Leader: For we are consumed by your anger; by your wrath we are overwhelmed.PEOPLE:  You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.

Leader:  For all our days pass away under your wrath; our years come to an end like a sigh.

INVOCATION

O God of enduring compassion and mercy, your dominion is unending and your love envelopes us.  We live by your grace, and we are in awe of your spirit who guides and sustains us.  We gather with your presence to worship you, as we abide in your realm of creation. In this we pray, Amen.

**OPENING HYM            “Open My Eyes that I May See”                    Red #557

CALL TO CONFESSION

Thanksgiving reminds us all of our good fortune and the blessings of our God. But we are shadowed by transgressions that we may not even be aware of.  Let us come together. In prayer

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, we are incomplete beings searching far and wide to be made whole. Though we try as hard as we might, we will never find completeness in the worldly things we acquire to fill the void. Fill our hearts with the peace that goes beyond all understanding. Call to us, that we may come to you with repentant hearts. Help all to see that your kingdom has come near and that it is You, and only You, whom we’ve been searching for all along.

(a moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Hear the genuine Good News of the Gospels and know that through God’s infinite love we are always forgiven.  In his name, Amen.

**APOSTLES CREED (Traditional)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy catholic Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

We give freely from the bounty we have been given by our Gracious God. May what we offer in these moments help to become the very blessing and hope that others need. This we pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

OFFERTORY        “Come, Ye Thankful People Come”

**DOXOLOGY       (Traditional)

PRAYER OF THANKS

Lord God, we thank you for these gifts. As we follow in faith, may we find ways to honor you by giving of our treasure, our time and our talents to glorify you and our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.
