WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 19)
Leader: The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the LORD are sure, making wise the simple;
PEOPLE: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eyes;
Leader: the ordinances of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
PEOPLE: More to be desired are they then gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Leader: Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
PEOPLE: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
INVOCATION
God of all goodness, you hasten to hear us whenever we call. In the brightness of your radiant love for us, you show us a clear sight of faith. Through Christ, you open our eyes to redeeming forgiveness; by the Holy Spirit, you lead us to behold your dazzling grace. In all worshipping gratitude, Amen.
**OPENING HYMN “When Morning Gilds the Skies” Red # 99
CALL TO CONFESSION
Help fill us with a sense of God’s saving presence, so our daily lives may reflect our own rebirth from heaven and help lead others to our God. Let us pray together.
PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING
Blessed God, we admit that we often turn our faith into a fixed set of creeds and confessions, easily uttered but far removed from understanding. Forgive us and help us to see such doctrines not as objective statements of truth about a far-off reality, but as a declaration of our intimacy with you and Christ by the works of your Spirit. In Jesus name we pray.
(a moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Hear the genuine Good News of the Gospels and know that through God’s infinite love we are always forgiven. In his name, Amen.

**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – Athanasian Creed
What the Father is, the Son is, and so is the Holy Spirit.
The Father is infinite; the Son is infinite; the Holy Spirit is infinite.
Eternal is the Father; eternal is the Son; eternal is the Spirit: And yet there are not three eternal beings, but one who is eternal; as there are not three uncreated and unlimited beings, but one who is uncreated and unlimited.
For as the rational soul and body are one person, so the one Christ is God and man. He suffered death for our salvation. He descended into hell and rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
At his coming all people shall rise bodily to give an account of their own deeds.
Those who have done good will enter eternal life, those who have done evil will enter eternal fire.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Guide us, O God, by your Word, and Holy Spirit, that in your light we may see light, in your truth find freedom, and in your will discover peace, through Christ our Lord, Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
It is right to share our abundance with those who have less or need more. May what we offer here help to be the answer of the prayers of others in the name of Jesus, Amen.
