WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 8)
Leader: LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
PEOPLE: Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.
Leader: When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;
PEOPLE: what are humans that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
Leader: You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet,
PEOPLE: all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
Leader: the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
PEOPLE: LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

CALL TO CONFESSION
We all journey in faith, but do we ever follow its sometimes-difficult pathways? Do we strive to be more like faithful disciples or merely capricious followers? Let us join together in our requests to understand God’s love and grace.
PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING
Blessed Redeemer, show us the way of acceptance for the fortunes we have received over the envy of that we don’t have. Show us a path to faith that bypasses the temptation of possessions to the brilliant light of your love. Point us away from the squabbles of that divide us and direct us to the saving grace that unites us as your children. This we pray in all humility and gratitude. Amen
(a moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
We gather in the sight of God to remember all that has been done for us and those around us. And in infinite wisdom and grace, God forgives us. Amen.

**PASSING OF THE PEACE
**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – Apostles Creed (As adapted by John Redman)
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was born of a young peasant woman, trained as a carpenter and baptized by His cousin John. He taught many, He healed many, and He angered many. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He defeated death and He offers us grace and love in the name of God the Father Almighty; from that time through all time to come. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit; the universal Church of Christ; the Communion of sharing our gifts with others; the forgiveness of our sins; the Grace of God’s love, and that each soul may have life everlasting. Amen.
**HYMN OF PRAISE “How Great Thou Art” Red #21
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Gracious God, we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from your mouth. Make us hungry for this heavenly food, that it may nourish us today in the ways of eternal life, through Jesus Christ, the bread of heaven Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
