WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 66)

LEADER: Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to

him glorious praise.

PEOPLE: Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power, your enemies cringe before you.

LEADER: All the earth worships you; they sing praises to you, sing praises to your

name.

PEOPLE: Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds among

mortals.

LEADER: Bless our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard,

PEOPLE: who has kept us among the living, and has not let our feet slip.

INVOCATION

We gather together today to offer our praise and thanks for the many works of God.

Let our shouts be clear so that they may be heard by our Creator.

**OPENING HYMN                   “Let All Things Now Living”                          Red #53

CALL TO CONFESSION

We are all in need of God’s blessing. Like the ten lepers, we call out to you Lord and

ask for your grace and healing.

PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING

God we ask for your forgiveness. We too often take for granted the blessings of our life and your creation. We forget to offer praise to you for all you have given us. We turn away from the sick, but then ask for your healing. We dismiss the strangers in our midst, but then ask for your shelter. We seek your understanding of our faults and your help in doing better. Help us to see each other and help each other as you taught us.

(A moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Even at our most despised and dejected, God sees you as fully human. No matter

your illness or sin, Jesus offers his healing and love.

PASSING OF THE PEACE

**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (adapted from the Nicene Creed)

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all

things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,

begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light,

begotten, not made. Through him all things were made. For us and for our

salvation he came down from heaven; and was made human. He was crucified

for us; he suffered and was buried. The third day he rose again. He ascended to

heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again with

glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end.

HYMN OF PRAISE         “O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee”                        Red #651

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Lord, we ask for wisdom as we hear your words. Let these words find a home in our

hearts.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE CHURCH

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their

own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who

taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS:

Let us return to God the offerings of our life and the gifts of the earth. May our gifts be a blessing to those who receive them. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
