CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 98)

LEADER: O sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things.

PEOPLE: The LORD has made known his victory; he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.

LEADER: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises.

PEOPLE: With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD.

LEADER and PEOPLE: Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy at the presence of the LORD, for he is coming to judge the earth.

INVOCATION

Lord, we ask for you to join with us here in spirit as we praise you and give thanks for your gift of music. Amen.

**OPENING HYMN                          “Amazing Grace”                                          Red #502

                                                            Verses 1, 2 & 5

CALL TO CONFESSION

God loves us so much that he sacrificed his Son so that we may have everlasting life. Let us come to God with humble hearts and confess our sins.

PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING

We come to you, Lord, knowing that we often fixate on trivial matters and lose sight of the commands to love you and love each other. We divide ourselves based on rules and regulations that serve ourselves more than you. Help us to see the simplicity of your perfect love and help us to live that love in our own lives.

(A moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

The greatest truth is that we are all forgiven by God. At any point, all we need to do is ask and we shall be given eternal life.

**GLORIA PATRI                              Avery & Marsh (Back of the Red hymnal)

**PASSING OF THE PEACE

**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (from the Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

**HYMN OF PRAISE                       “Here I am Lord”                                           Blue #525

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Lord, grant us the patience to hear your words and the wisdom to understand your truth.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE CHURCH

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Let us return to God the offerings of our life and the gifts of the earth. May our gifts be a blessing to those who receive them. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
