INVOCATION
O God, to you we honor all power and glory, mercy and strength. Your spirit surrounds us as we dwell in the shadow of your gracious deliverance. May what we do reveal your benevolence and may what we offer reflect your goodness. This we pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
**OPENING HYMN “God, Who Stretched the Spangled” Red #54
CALL TO CONFESSION
Even in the sunlight of summer, we continue to stumble through the darkness of our transgressions. Let us come together as we seek a greater understanding of our Lord and Creation.
PRAYER OF UNDERSTANDING
Blessed God, you endow us with goodness while we squander your blessings. Satisfaction eludes us as our cravings increase. Bring us trust in the message of Jesus, who provides our spiritual riches. Knowing that the grace of Christ surpasses all knowledge, fill us with fullness of your love as you forgive our sins.
(a moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Christ came among us to forgive and to lead us to a new understanding of our place as the children of God. Let us embrace that love and wonder. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Gracious God, keep in our hearts all those whose names you already know and who ask for healing in their own quiet ways, let us pray together as our redeemer taught us, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
It is right to share our abundance with those who have less or need more. May what we offer here help to be the answer of the prayers of others in the name of Jesus, Amen.
