WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 84)

Leader: lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts!

PEOPLE: The soul longs, indeed it faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Leader: Even the sparrow finds a home and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts,

PEOPLE: Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.

Leader: Happy are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

PEOPLE: As they go through the valley of tears, they make it a place of springs.

Leader: They go from strength to strength; the God of gods will be seen in Zion.

PEOPLE: LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob!

INVOCATION

God of hosts, all blessing glory and honor be unto you as you guide us on our pathways and help us when we stray. You are our foundation, a canopy of light above us and a leading lamp to show us the way of a life in you. To this we praise and adore you, Amen.

We struggle in our lives, in our thoughts, and in our hearts. Let us come to God to relieve ourselves of our guilt, our doubts, and our failings as we come closer to our Creator.

PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING

Gracious Lord, help us to see a better pathway to your way, and may the example of Jesus always be a beacon to our faith and to our lives. May the beauty of your creation flow around us as life-giving water and may we ourselves in one another, reflecting the love of neighbors as ourselves. By the grace of Jesus and the light of the Spirit, Amen.

(a moment for silent personal confession)

From time gone by to that time to come, our Lord our God see us as children who are always and without exception forgiven. Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
