WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 90)
Leader: Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
PEOPLE: Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Leader: You turn us back to dust, and say, “Turn back, you mortals.”
PEOPLE: For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.
Leader: You sweep them away; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning;
PEOPLE: in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers
Leader: Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
PEOPLE: Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, and as many years as we have seen evil.
Leader: Let your work be manifest to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.
PEOPLE: Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us and prosper for us the work of our hands -- O prosper the work of our hands!
INVOCATION
Creator God, you call us to love and serve you with body, mind, and spirit through loving your creation and our sisters and brothers.
Open our hearts in compassion, our minds to reason, and our hands to work and receive these petitions on behalf of the needs of the church and the world. This we pray in Jesus name, Amen.
**OPENING HYMN: “Spirit Divine Attend our Prayers” Blue #325
CALL TO CONFESSION
Try as we might, we still fail and we still fall. But God always lifts us up again and points us on our way to a better pathway in life. Let us confess our sins together.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of active love, we confess our tendency to pay lip-service to your Gospel, to be hearers of your word but only reluctantly doers. Forgive us our own lethargy and plant in us a deep discontent with a faith that is all talk and no action. Empower us Lord, to put our efforts where our claims are, after the model and message of Jesus, in whose name we pray.
(a moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Friends in faith, know that by our collective and personal confessions that God hears us and listens to us, and by the grace of Jesus we are forgiven. Amen
**HYMN OF PRAISE “Praise my Soul the King of Heaven” Blue #478
**PASSING OF THE PEACE
**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (APOSTLES CREED Traditional)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his
only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell;
The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy catholic Church, the Communion of
Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting.
Amen
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
O Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us; through Jesus Christ, Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:
LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
We give freely from the bounty we have been given by our Gracious God. May what we offer in these moments help to become the very blessing and hope that others need. This we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
OFFERTORY “The Power of Your Love”
**DOXOLOGY (Traditional)
PRAYER OF THANKS
Lord God, we thank you for these gifts. As we follow in faith, may we find ways to honor you by giving of our treasure, our time and our talents to glorify you and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
**CLOSING HYMN “Go with Us, Lord” Blue #535
BENEDICTION
May the strength of God sustain us; may the power of God preserve us; may the hands of God protect us; may the way of God direct us; may the love of God go with us this day and forever. Amen
