WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 104)

LEADER: O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.

PEOPLE: Yonder is the sea, great and wide, living things both small and great.

LEADER: When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the ground.

PEOPLE: the glory of the LORD endures forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works--

LEADER: who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke.

PEOPLE: I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.

LEADER: May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.

PEOPLE: Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD!

INVOCATION

Holy Spirit, we praise and thank You for the love lavished upon us. Holy Spirit, we seek and so earnestly crave to be in Your presence, to feel the inner work of You in our own hearts and minds. You so graciously give comfort, truth, and love. Holy Spirit, we welcome You this very day. In the Name of Christ Jesus, Amen.

**OPENING HYMN: “Fire of God Undying Flame ” Red #301

CALL TO CONFESSION

From that first Day of Pentecost to this one, we have been called by the Holy Spirit. Let us follow in that pattern, not merely as followers of Christ, but as true apostles to his message. Let us pray together.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Even though the Holy Spirit touches our lives in faith, we sometimes feel alone until that same spirit brings us round to the directions that you point too, our most merciful and forgiving Lord. Touch us with the spirit not only for direction, but for strength for the journey into the mission that Jesus lays out for us. In his name we pray, Amen.

A moment for silent personal confession

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Friends, even death could not silence the message of love and grace brought to us in the life of Jesus. By the grace of God and the Love of Jesus, we are forgiven. Amen.

HYMN OF PRAISE: “Spirit of the Living God” Red #297

SERMON MESSAGE All Fired Up and Ready to Go! John Redman, CRE

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER:

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

We give freely from the bounty we have been given by our Gracious God. May what we offer in these moments help to become the very blessing and hope that others need. This we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

OFFERTORY: “Spirit of God, Unleashed on Earth”

PRAYER OF THANKS

Lord God, we thank you for these gifts. As we follow in faith, may we find ways to honor you by giving of our treasure, our time and our talents to glorify you and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
