WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 19)

Leader: The heavens are telling the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. PEOPLE: Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge.

Leader: There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; PEOPLE: their voice goes out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world.

Leader: In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a strong man runs its course with joy. PEOPLE: It rises from the end of the heaven and its circuit to the end of them, and nothing is hid from its heat.

Leader: The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; PEOPLE: the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple; ALL: The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.

INVOCATION

Wonderful God, who has blessed us so greatly with Jesus, open our hearts and minds to the enormity and awesomeness of your gift to us in him, and lead us to know better about how we live within all your creation through him and within him. In his name we pray, Amen.

**OPENING HYMN “My Lord, What a Morning” Red #279

CALL TO CONFESSION

We too often lose sight of the unity and the redemption promised to us through the message of Jesus Christ. Let us be reminded in our prayer together:

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Forgiving God, we admit that our fragmented, selfish, and sometimes pointless lives mark our forgetfulness of your grace. Jog our memories, dear Lord, reminding us to live the truth of being as one in Christ in all our daily lives. In his name we do pray, Amen.

(a moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Living with us in his flesh, Jesus abolished the barriers between heaven and earth, even as we dwell with Christ in the grace of eternal forgiveness our creator. By this we are forgiven.

**PASSING OF THE PEACE

**HYMN OF PRAISE “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee” Red #112

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Gracious God, give us humble, teachable, and obedient hearts, that we may receive what you have revealed, and do what you have commanded. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & THE LORD’S PRAYER

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Let us all consider what we have been blessed with and how we can best share it with those in greater need, even as we gift our church for its greater work to the Glory of God and the undying love of Jesus.

OFFERTORY “Blessed Jesus, We Are Here” harmonized by J. S. Bach

**DOXOLOGY Traditional, Red #808

PRAYER OF THANKS

We thank you, our Lord for those gifts to us that we send to you for your work and ours in congregation, community, and culture. Guide us in good use as we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
