WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP (adapted from Psalm 15)

Leader: O LORD, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill? PEOPLE: Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; Leader: who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors; PEOPLE: in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the LORD; who stand by their oath even to their hurt; Leader: who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent.

PEOPLE: Those who do these things shall never be moved.

INVOCATION

Dear Lord, we gather in your infinite presence to worship you in music, scripture, and word. Grant us the ears to hear, the voices to call and the minds to understand your word and your blessings, in Jesus name, Amen.

**OPENING HYMN “Breathe on me, Breath of God” Red #295

CALL TO CONFESSION

We humans are so proud of ourselves and our accomplishments, but they pale in comparison to God’s accomplishments in creation and in his love for all. Let us confess our sins together.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Great God of Creation, forgive our sins, even in your sight as we attempt to do what we may think is best, but never really know. Help us to see a better path, a brighter way, through the example of Jesus. This we pray in his name. Amen.

(a moment for silent personal confession)

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Sisters and brothers, let us lift our hearts in faith to the one who hears all prayers and holds close all those in need. Amen.

**PASSING OF THE PEACE

**APOSTLES CREED (Traditional)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy catholic Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.

**HYMN OF PRAISE “Lord Jesus, Think on Me” Red #462

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

O Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us; through Jesus Christ, Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught to pray, saying:

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

We can hoard the gifts with which you bless us, God of generosity, or we can share them with others. May what we offer in these moments be the very blessing, the very hope, the very peace others need. This we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

OFFERTORY “My Faith Looks up to Thee”

**DOXOLOGY (Traditional)

PRAYER OF THANKS

Lord God, we thank you for these gifts. As we follow in faith, may we find ways to honor you by giving of our treasure, our time and our talents to glorify you and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

CLOSING HYMN “Amazing Grace” Red #502

RESPONSIVE BENEDICTION:

Leader: May the strength of God sustain us;

PEOPLE: may the power of God preserve us;

Leader: may the hands of God protect us; may the way of God direct us;

PEOPLE: may the love of God go with us this day and forever. Amen.
