Leader: Lord, your steadfast love is before our eyes, and we walk in faithfulness to you.
People: Let us seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually. For in his presence there is refuge.
Leader: Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
People: Let us remember, God sent his servant Moses, and Aaron whom he had chosen to save his people.
ALL: Praise the LORD!
OPENING PRAYER
PRAYER OF CONFESSION Cathy McCarty
Lord, Moses lived a very long time ago. Sometimes we wonder, where is that God now. It is a powerful, beautiful story but how can it speak to us now? We wonder what you have done for us lately? We wonder if you hear our cries for mercy and for justice. We long for what we have lost: Our sense of security, loved ones whom we cannot embrace, our jobs, gatherings where we can rejoice and celebrate. We fear for our health and that of our families and friends, young and old. We fear for our nation which appears to be so divided. We fear for the future. Lord God, instill in us a trust in you that allows us to overcome fear and serve you in the ways you have chosen for us. Give us ears to hear, capacity to say yes, the energy to follow through in your name.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
The Lord knows our inmost being, he knows what we need before we can even ask. Hear the good news, we are forgiven, blest and led. Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND LORD’S PRAYER
In the flaming bush you promised deliverance to your people, O God, and in the cross of Jesus you embraced our suffering and pain. In times of misery, show us the transforming power of your love that we may know the hope of your glory.
Let us name those who need our prayers either through the chat or out loud.
(Please remember to unmute yourself.)
After each name let the people say, “God hear our Prayer”
Hear us as we pray together the prayer that Jesus taught us:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.
