WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 29)
Leader: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob.
PEOPLE: Raise a song, sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp.
Leader: Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our festal day.
PEOPLE: For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Leader: He made it a decree in Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt.
PEOPLE: I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.
Leader: Hear, O my people, while I admonish you; O Israel, if you would but listen to me!
PEOPLE:I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
INVOCATION
Gracious God, we rejoice in our company here today, to offer our worship and devotion to you and to the teachings of Scripture. Guide us in our pathways of faith, step by step in your name and that of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
**OPENING HYMN “Open My Eyes That I May See” Blue #324
CALL TO CONFESSION
In our busy complicated lives, we often discount or overlook our devotion to God and to our faith. Let us come together as we confess our sins.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide from you, for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from you. We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness, that we may choose your will and obey your commandments, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
(moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Sisters and brothers in faith, we know we are often undeserving, but our God always forgives us, unconditionally and forever. Amen.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Gracious God, we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from your mouth. Make us hungry for this heavenly food, that it may nourish us today in the ways of eternal life; through Jesus Christ, the bread of heaven. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Almighty God, you speak and the heavens tremble; you move and leaves of the trees shiver with delight. The babble of waters on their course to the sea attest to your wisdom and plan for creation. We are in awe of the wisdom you continually give us, how you fill us with the Holy Spirit who offers counsel and healing. Guide now our movements and the course of our actions. May we care for others as you care for us, and may our days be full of witness to your overwhelming goodness in Christ, even as we ask for special prayer consideration for those we name here:
Gracious God, keep in our hearts all those whose names you already know and who ask for healing in their own quiet ways, let us pray together as our redeemer taught us, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
