LEADER: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
PEOPLE: Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually.
LEADER: Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles, and the
judgments he has uttered,
PEOPLE: O offspring of his servant Abraham, children of Jacob, his chosen
ones.
INVOCATION
Join with us in this place, dear Lord, and open our hearts and minds. Send your Spirit to be with us today and all of our days.
**OPENING HYMN “Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation” Red #699
CALL TO CONFESSION
Our sins weigh on us and keep us from living lives of peace and love. We can
unburden ourselves by confessing our sins to God and asking for his support.
PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING
Lord, we ask you over and over for help, but we often do not use what you have already given us. We wait to find the perfect time and the perfect place rather than using the gifts you have given us to solve problems here and now. We are too often worried about what we do not have and we do not see the glory of creation around us. Forgive us for what we feel unable to do even though the need is all around us.
(A moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
At our lowest point, we are still loved by God. No matter what our sins may be, God offers us forgiveness and salvation.
**GLORIA PATRI Avery & Marsh (Back of the Red Hymnal)
**HYMN OF PRAISE “All Creatures of Our God and King” Red #356
**PASSING OF THE PEACE
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (from the Apostles’ Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
With the words of the scripture we discover the wisdom of the Lord. May we hear the wisdom of God so that we can live more closely aligned with God’s will.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
And Lord we pray for those in our own hearts whose names you already know, for their own healing and comfort, in your name and that of our redeemer Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our
debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Let us return to God the offerings of our life and the gifts of the earth. May our gifts be a blessing to those who receive them. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER OF THANKS
We thank you, our Lord for those gifts to us that we send to you for your work and ours in congregation, community, and culture. Guide us in good use as we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
**HYMN OF PARTING “Holy Is the Lord” Red #831
